John M'Kellar, and C. S. Wesley. For Austialia: Capt. Audley Coote, the Lingaid i roupe, and fifty-five others. Cargo for Auckland : 200 cases almon, 130 bags rice, GO bales hops, 150 packages matches, 114 pack a-, ea merchandise, and a large cargo lor Australia, AMERICAN NEWS. A terrific storm broke over Chicago on the 10th September, causing immense destruction to shipping. A train was thrown into tho Mississippi River hy the rails spreading, and resulted in fifteen persons being seriously injured. At Uil c.ty lightning struck a large etude oil tank at the Imperial Refinery. Five tanks filled with oil and benzine were destroyed; altogether about 50,000 barrels were conBumed by the fire. The loss was 200,000 dols., and there was no insurance.
