Auckland, September 25. The new boiler for the steemer Wellington, weighing twenty-eight ton?, was taken from Yeoman's foundry to the vessel to-day. The sum of LB7 has been.collected on behalf of Mrs Cable, tho widow of the master of the cutter Hero, wrecked at Manakau.
At a meeting of the Board of Education, held to-day, a letter was received fiom the Chancellor of the University, in reply to one by the Board, dated 23th August, respecting the stu-lc-.its in Auckland College. A resolution was adopted, thanking the Chancellor for his courtesy in entering into an explanation of the pom's raised by the Board, and confirming the view that the college students had actually kept the terms of the year. The Board, however, regretted that the Chancellor had not seen his way to remove the discredit unjustly put upon those students by gazetting their namea as having failed to pasß an examination for which th«y had not presented themselves.

A fatal accident occurred here yesterday to a son (agei seven years) of Mr James Wyldo, civil engineer. It appears that deceased, whose p&reßta reside above the Government quarry, ventured too near the precipice, and fell over a distance of fifty feet, death being instantaneous.
