ROSLYN ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the Roslyn Eoad Board was held last evening at the linden schoolhouse for the purpose of hearing appeals against the rate proposed to be levied in the district, viz., Is iu the £. Mr A. C. Begg was in the chair. Mr Jackson, as chairman of the public meeting held in the ('rill-shed on Friday, 10th inst., introduced the deputation appointed thereat for the purpose of asking information from the Board in reference to monies expended in the past, and that proposed to be so for the current year. In the course of Mr Jackson's introductory remarks, The Chairman informed him that the Board were not there for receiving deputations, but simply for hearing appeals ; and that the ratepayers had every opportunity of obtaining the information required at the annual election. Mr Millaii, one of the deputation, attempted to remonstrate with the chairman, but was immediately silenced. Mr Lister then endeavored to introduce the business of the deputation, but the chairman refused to listen to any arguments. The meeting was ultimately adjourned till Friday evening and the ratepayers are requested to meet at the Koslyn Drill-shed tonight to consider the matter.
