THE SHARE MARKET,
Mr W. Hooper reports that the amount of business done during the week has been exceedingly limited, and what little has been done is at lower prices than last week. The beet stocks have declined, simply from a scarcity of money. The following quotations are about selling rates:—National Insurance, 2.45; Standard, 14s 6d to 15s; South British, 475; National Bank, L39s6d to L 3 10s; Colonial, 26s to 26s 6d. Little or nothing is doing in mining shaves. Temperance Hall shares (LI paid up), are worth 15s.
