Three acts only of “ King John ” were played, and Lady Constance is the character most prominently brought before the audience. Ttabling sarcasm with which the wid Wrd lady addresses Queen Eleanor iu the second act, and the pathetic and natural grief at the loss of her child in the third were fore bly ex pressed by Mrs Darrell, and long rounds of applause greeted her throughout the progress of the play. Mr Darrell was at honuin the part of Philip Haulconbridge, giving a capital picture of the reckless, daring braggart. The other characters were fairly represented, “ The Rough Diamond ” cau ed a great amount of amusement. To-night “ bob Roy ” and “ A Mexican Tigress ” will be produced. %
