[By Tblbobaph.] Wellington, August 31. In the House of Representatives this afternoon, at 2 30. Mr Bluett presented a petition for the extension of the railway to Kowai I'ass. Mr Macandrew gave notice of two resolutions regarding the way in which the educational reserves, the land revenue, and public works shall be dealt with in Otigo in the event of the abolition measure becoming law. Tho House was asked whether the debate in Committee on the Abolition Bill would be repotted in full. Major Atkinson said the Government were desirous of seeing so important a question reported fully. It was resolved that directions be given that * Hansard' report the debate in Committee fully. ! Mr Macandrew gave notice of his intention to introduce Bills to establish a Board of Works and an Education Board for the Provincial district of Otago ; also, the following amendments when the Abolition Bill is in Committee:—At the end of section 9, that on abolition coming into force, all reserves and propertiesatpreßentvestedintheSupefintendentfor education purposes shall vest intheChairman of the Education Board at present, until the Education Board is affirmed under the Act a* aforesaid ; also at the end of section 18, that the residue of the land fund of Otago rovincial district, after defraying the charges mentioned in section 169 of the Abolition Bill, shall be paid monthly to the account of the Board of Workß for Otago Provincial district, to be appropriated by the Board of Works for the censtruction and maintenance of public works within the Provincial districtsuch Board of Works to consist of the members representing Otago in the Assembly until the Board is constituted by Act, and all powers vested in or exercised by the Superintendent to be exercised by the chairman of the Board of Works for the district. Mr O'Connor is moving his question of privilege.
