He was fined 10s, in default, forty-eight hours’imprisonment. John Cregory estreated his-. 1 mil—los ; Mai thew English was ordered to pay .'id.--, with the alternative of forty-eight hours' imprisonment. Eobhinu a Church. -—William Keogh, a youth of respectable appearance, pleaded guilty to stealing 4s Gd from the plate at the door of the Hanover street Church, on the previous morning.—lnspector Mallard said he believed that accused hud been led on by another boy named Riordau —a daring young scamp.--The Bench remarked that as accused had hitherto borne a good character he would not be sent to gaol, but ordered to be locked up for twenty-four hours aud receive five lashes.

A Chinaman Vagrant. -Ah Wong, who has been in gaol over and over again, was recommitted, for two months, on a charge of having no lawful means of support.—Accused stated, through an interpreter, that he had been “ cut” by all his countrymen. An Ungrateful Woman. Mary Henry was charged with having, on the Ist insfc., stolen a coat and pair of trousers, the property of John Henry Hickle.—lnspector Mallard said accused had been allowed lodgings with a lady in George street purely out of charity, and then robbed one of the boarders, aftewards pawning the articles. t?he had previously been convicted for drunkenness, and Detective Bain found a number of pawn tickets on her person when in custody on the present charge.—Their Worships sent her to gaol for three months.
