CITY POLICE COURT.

Saturday, August 28. (Before A. C. Beorg and J. Brown, Esq.'s, J.P.'s.) DBUNK.ENNB3S.—Robert Thompson, arrested in Princes street, with L 52 on his person, was fined ss; Christian White was also fined ss; and on a further charge of damaging Constable Hamilton's macintosh, he was ordered to pay 30s, in default three clays' imprisonment. Illegally on Premises.—George Collins was charged, on the information of William Wilson, carpenter, with trespassing on his premises in Albany street about nine o'clock the previous evening.—Prisoner, who was caught in the act of removing some articles from a clothes line, was sentenced to, three months' imprisonment.

A Youno Reprobate.—Charles Coleman, ■who has already gained a wide notoriety, was charged with having no lawful means of support, and also with obtaining money by false representations.—Detective Shury stated that accused wa3 released from gaol on the 11th inst. after sewing a sentence of six months for theft. He had since been constantly hanging about the streets at night, and obtaining lodging by false pretences. On Thursday he went to the shop of John Morrison, tobacconist, George street, and, producing a book, solicited a Bttbscription on behalf of a relative of his, who, he said, was in the Hospital with both legs off and one of his arms out of its socket. Witn ess discovered this to be a fraud. Prisoner was >Df respectable parents, living in Covent Gardon, London. —The Bench sentenced him to six months' imprisonment.
