Taupo, for "Wellington, August 30. The Union Co.’s p.s. Samson railed for her usual trip to Oamaru last evening. The Union Co.’s s.s. Maori sailed this afternoon for Lyttelton via Timaru. • The barque Craigielea, in ballast, for Newcastle, was towed to sea this morning by the tug Geelong. Messrs M'Meckan, Blackwood, and Co.’s fine s.s. Otago took her departure this afternoon for Melbourne via the Hlutf. The ship Knight of Snowdon, and barque Crishna, commenced to discharge their cargoes at the railway pier.
Messrs Houghton and Co.'s favorite B.s. Wanganui took her departure from the railway pier for her usual trip to the Bluff.
The barque Harriet Armitage, forKaipaia, was towed down from Dunedin this afternoon hy the BJB. Wanganui, and anchored off Carey Bay, The brigantine Sarah Pile, with a full oargo of timber from Kaipara, sailed up yesterday afternoon as far as the lower anchorage, and will be towed up to Dtmedin to discharge. She left Kaipara on the 13th inst., passed Cape Egmont en the 14th, had strong S.E. winds to the 16th, when it moderated and shifted next day to the N.E.; passed Banks’s Peninsula at noon on the 19th, arrived at the Heads on the 23rd, and soiled np under the charge of Pilot Moore. SHIPPING TELEGEAMS. Auckland, August 25.—The Dover Castle hse arrived from Belfast, with 564 immigrante, after a voyage of eighty-eight days. She snohered at the Heads. Napier, August 24.—The ehip Friedberg has arrived from Hamburg, with immigrant*, all well. Timabe, August 24.—Sailed, this morning, the barque Eose. The roadstead is quite empty—the first time for many months. Wellington, August 24.—Arrived: Dunedin, from Dunedin.
