Wellington, August 24. By request Mr Stafford will address the •lecters of the Hutt next Monday night.
Auckland, August 24. At a meeting of the electors of Eden and Waitemate, resolutions were passed regretting the action of the Government in forcing the abolition measures.
The Franklin electors met at Waitemate, and passed a resolution adverse to the Government measures passing this session.
Wanganui, August 24. A public meeting at Wangaui unanimously passed a resolution in favor of immediate abolition. A similar resolution was also passed unanimously at Hawera,
Timaru, August 24. Bickerstaff, a tailor, has been committed for trial for setting fire to his premises on Thursday night. He and his wife are Scotch immigrants, not long out.
Kelson, August 24. The Tararua arrived here to-day at 2 p.m. She left Melbourne on the 18th. She has six saloon passengers, and fifty-seven tons of cargo for all ports, and sails for Wellington at noon to-morrow.
