MAILS CLOSE. Northern Ports of New Zealand.—Per Ladybird, on Tuesday, August 24, at 11.35 a.m. Southland and Australian Colonies. —Per Otago, on Wednesday, August 25, at 1.50 p.m. Southland. Per Wanganui, on Wednesday, August 25, at 1.50 pm. A mail for tbe Chatham Islands will he despatched from this office on or about the 24th inst. British and other mails via San Francisco will close at this office on the 28th inst. British and other mails, via Suez, will close at this office on 30th inst. AEGH. BASE, Chief Postmaster. Chief Post Office, Dunedin, August 23.1875. Mails for Australian Colonies via Melbourne, close at Hokitika, per Omeo, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, 24tti instant. Messages for transmission by above route will ho received at this office up to 9 a.m, on 24th instant.
