THE HARBOR BOARD.

The adjourned meeting of the Harbor Board was held this afternoon; present—Messrs G. Turnbull (in the chair), M'Neil, M'Kinnon, Cargill, Tewsley, and Davie, The secretary (Mr Gillies) read a memo, from Captain Thomson, that William Goldie owner of the lighter Don, had plied with his vessel without a license, and had flatly refused to take out a license. It was decided that a letter should be sent to Mr Goldie informin'* him that if he did not take out a license forthwith, proceedings would be taken against him The Board’s solicitor, writing on the liability of piloting vessels, said that a pilot was no more exempt than anyone else when negligence was shown ; and that the master or owner was free from liabilities if a collison occurred through such negligence.
