Monday, August 16. (Before H. Bastings, Esq., and J. Black, Esq.J.P.'s.)
Drunksnnbbs.—-William Tracey, arrested in George street, was fined ss, with .the option ot twenty-four hours’ imprisonment. George Thom; son, John Shannon, and John M‘Leod were each ordered > to pay of 10s, in default twenty-four hours’ imprisonment, The latter pi isoner pleaded that, although he was drunk, he was not disorderly. Inspector Mallard reminded their Worships that the newOrdi* nance made drunkenness a crime. Forcible Entrt and assault on a Tenant. —Daniel Lewis was charged with having, on the sth instant, broken into a house at Kensington.—Prisoner, who said he thought the house was a brothel, whs fined 40s, with the alternative of seven days’ imprisonment; and was further ordered to pay 10s for damage done.—Sanual Harrison was charged, en the information of Daniel Lewis, with assaulting and beating him. Prosecutor stated that prisoner, with three other men, after breaking into ms house without any provocation, assaulted him.—Accused was fined 40s, in default seven days’ imprisonment.
