Retd „ H. S. Pish, jun. „ C. S. Resres ~ J. Hyde Harris The want of an establishment such as the now proposed to be eonstituted has long been felt, not only in Otago, but throughout the Colony of New Zealand, The promoters of this Company in seeking the support of the general public, do so with the utmost confidence, as from their experience of the large profits accruing from the trades tf» be followed in the manufacture of the articles to be sold, they feel assured that the project will prove one not only of monetary benefit but of general good, as an additional load industry will be established which will in a Comparatively short time grow into a most extensive manufactory. The object of the Company is to supply the Colony with locally-manufactured furniture of a quality to equal any yet imported from the Home markets. A large number of our local youths will, under the very best workmen to be obtained, i be employed. Woods from foreign markets will bo imported ; bnt the woods of Now Zealand, many of which are eminently adapted for the manufacture of every description of furniture, will be largely used. The promoters wish to call special attention to the fact that the profits derived from the manufacture and sale of the articles to be made are incredibly, large in some oases extending to lOd per cent.; they therefo efeel perfect confidence in assuring the public of the undoubted safety of the undertaking- and with j economical and judicious management, very | handsome returns en the capital invested may | be confidently expected. It is proposed to take ever at a valuation the steam factory of H. J. Bason in Cumberland street, which has power suitable for the business. These premises will in ths first inI stance form the manufactory. Centrally situated premises in tke city will be established, where will be the show-rooms an 1 warehouses of the Cempany. Of the amount of valuation te be paid fer the premises, the vendor agrees to take the snehalf in paid-up shares. It is needless to say more in favor of the undertaking; the matter is left in the hands of the public, who eanuot fail to see ths mauy advantages to bo derived therefrom.
