FUNERAL OF MR TOLMIE.

The remains of Mr W. A. Tolmie, late M.H.R. for Caversham, and M.P.C. for the Peninsula, were borne to their final restingplace in the Northern Cemetery this afternoon. The Government offices were closed at 2 p m., but the shops on the line of route did not close while the funeral was passing. The cortege reached from the Hibernian Hotel to Messrs Park and Curie’s establishment in Princes street, and amongst those present we noticed his Honor the Deputy-Superintendent, the Revs. Messrs Grow and Penny, several Provincial Councillors, the Commissioner of Police, the Collector of Customs, and a large number of influential gentlemen. The Rev. Mr Gtow officiated at the grave.
