Murray The want' of an establishment such as the one now proposed to be constituted has long been felt, not only in Otago, but throughout the Colony of lYew Zealand, The promoters of this Company in seeking the support of the general public, do so with the utmost confidence, as from their experience of the large profits accruing from the trades to be followed in the manufacture of the articles to be sold, they feel assured that the project will prove one not only of monetary benefit but of general good, as am additional local industry will be established which will in a comparatively short time grow into a most extensive manufactory. The object of the Company is to supply the Colony with locally-manufactured furniture of a quality to equal any yet imported from the Homo markets. A large number of our local youths will, under the very best workmen to be obtained, be employed. Woods from foreign markets will be imported ; but the woods of New Zealand, many of which are eminently adapted for the manufacture of every description of furniture, will be largely use-1. The promoters wish to call special attention to the fact that the profits derived from the manufacture and sale of the articles to be made arerncredibly. large in Borne oases extending to 100 per cent.; they therefore feel perfect confidence in assuring the public of the undoubted safety of the undertaking, and with economical and judicious management, very handsome returns on the capital invested may be confidently expected. It is proposed to take over at a valuation the steam factory of H. J. Bacon in Cumberland street, which has power suitable for the business. These premises will in the first inI stance form the manufactory. Centrally situated premises in the city will be established, where will be the show-rooms anl warehouses of the Cempany. Of the amount of valuation to be paid for the premises, the vendor agrees to take the enenalf in paid-up shares.
