The amountof revenue received at the Custom, house on goods cleared for consumption this dav was 1,1,742 9s 4d. Mr A. Mercer reports for the week ending August 6, 1875, retail prices only .-—Fresh butler, in half and 11b prints, 2s 3d to 2s 4d ; powdered and salt butter, Is lOd to 2s. Tbe supply of fresh butter is still very scarce, and some of it very inferior. : alt butter is very plentiful. Cheese of the best quality, Is to Is 2d per lb ; side bacon, Is 3d ; rolled bacon, Is 2d ; beef ham, lOd; lard, Isto Is 3d ; colonial hams. Is 3d to Is 4d per lb; English hams, Is 8d to Is 9d; eggs, a little more plentiful, at 2s to 2s 3d per dozen.
