THE CITY MEDICAL OFFICER.
To ill': lull lor.
Sir, —I understand the present City Council propose to appoint a Me deal rv fficerof Health, it ia quite evident that the sanitary conditkn of the City is far fr in being satisfactory, an ! that we require a thoroiigh’y competent man to take the matter earnestly in hand. If it is possible to get a rain who, in addition to puuly medical qnnlilicitions, can show that he has paid special attention to sanitation, we may liope that much good may come of the office. I therefore sincerely hope that great c re will be taken by our Councillors in so’ocUug a medical officer of health, and that they will vine him a salary proportionate to the arduous duties before him.—l am, &c., Father op a Large Family, Dunedin, July 21.
