CITY POLICE COURT.
Saturday, July 17. (Before H. S, Fish, Esq., and J. S. Hickson, Esq., J.P.’s.) Drunkenness —George Logan and Alice Ruth were each fined 40s, in default three days’ imprisonment. James Bryan was fined 20s, with the option of three days’ imprisonment.
Resisting thd Police. James Bryan, charged with resisting and assaulting Con stable Gilbert in the execution of his duty, and John Bonmn, charged with inciting Bryan to resist, were each ordered to pay a fine of 50a ; in default seven days’ imprisonment. Vagrancy,— Alice Ruth was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment for having no lawful means of support. Keeping a Brothel —James Kennedy was charged, on remand, with being the occupier of a house in Walker street frequented by persons having no lawful means or support—Defendant, wno arrived here bv the Carnatic, was cautioned that if be did not vacate the house immediately he would be severely punished. Wipe Desertion.—John Duly, charged with deserting his wife on the 19th inst., was fined ss; and further ordered to contribute 20s a week towards the maintenance of his wife.
