FIRE.

At 3.30 this afternoon a fire broke out in the dwelling-house of Mr M. Hyams, Castle street. Mr Hyams had gone out about a quar-ter-of-an-hour before, leaving a servant-girl in possession. The house was completely burned down, and had it not been for the brick gabka in both ends, the adjoining houses on each side must have been destroyed. The Brigade turned out in an incredibly Bhort space of time, and the police force were also present in large numbers, Mr Hyams loses all his furniture and, clothing and a large amount of jewellery. He was not insured. The house belongs to Mr Smeaton. ji————————
