RE TRAMWAYS.
To the Editor. Sir,—ln reply to the letter of your o&mspondeit Mgning himself " Justice. " which appeared in your issu» of the 7th mst., it seems to n e that ho must have a pergonal grudge a a'nst the parties who are now applying for the aiding, and have given himself a wrong name. Seeing thathe is dissatisfied with the present Bystero, that is drayß and waggons (moreover, he Ftates that they are a nuisance, and that the coaches and horsus kill children), how can ho condemn the tramway, which has never been tried ? Either the one system or the other ought to be light; if not, what would he substitute in th?ir place? Iu future I would advise your correspondent to come out iu his true colors and state his grievance, and if a little lheur.atio balsam would alleviate the hardship, I daresay it is attainable. The whole tenor of his letter uhoWB a vindictive sjlrit, und the amount of
sympathy he has for the welfare of the public I think is very remote ; but for that I Bnould not have replied to such a silly letter.—l am,
I)unedin, July 12. Progress.
