A few men had a very narrow escape at the end of the Clutha Railway, the other day, when two trucks, which had been detached from the engine, started off on their own accord, down the incline towards the new bridge. The men managed to jump out before great speed was attained, but the trucks kept on their way till approaching the bridge, when the debris which covered the rails terminated their career by toppling them over into a paddock. -- Mr R.
