Friday, June 25. (Before E. M‘Glashan, Esq., J.P., and W. Fraser, Esq., J.P.)
.. Drunkenness.—John Johnson was fined 5s in default twenty-fours’ imprisonment; John Wilson, 10s or three days’; John Keating, 10s or twenty-four hours’; John Arnold Reekie and John M Luskey, each 20s or forty-eight tiours ; lliomas Cook, 40s or seven days’.Benjam n Farra, 40s or fourteen days'. * Trespass —bamuel Mulbev and John Williams, _ discharged seamen, from the schoener Melanie, for illegally trespassing on the vessel and refusing to leave when ordered so to do were each fined 20s; in default twenty-four hours imprisonment. Assault. Thomas Welsh v. Robert Armsstrong, a trumpery charge of this nature, was dismissed.
Yoi:ng Defenders . Three little boys named George Morrissey, Matthew Cook, and Robert Look, were jointly chargedj|with stealing on the 21st mst., a dozen fowls, the property of Wm. Thomson, Morningtoa. Mr Hay defended the boys Cook.-The fowls were stolen by the lans, and sold by Morrisey to Mr Harper, poulterer, Arcade. Harper said that he was m the i.aily habit of purchasing poultry fiom chilnreu of lender years, and the Bench considered such practice reprehensible. The lads were discharged with a caution.
