WIDENING OF PRINCES STREET.
To the Editor. Sib, —In the copy of information served on ns by the solicitors of the Citizens’ Committee, as also in the circular enclosed in last night’s Evening Stab, our firm is put down as willing to remove back its buildings to the required width, for the purpose of widening Princes street south, for the sum of L 2,700. We have again to_ object to that statement, as we never at any time made such a proposal to the Corporation, and only agreed to remove back for the sum awarded us by the arbitration. This is not the only error contained in the copy of the information, and we have no hesitation in pro? nonncing that document a “ comedy of errors,” which no doubt will be shown when the proper time arrives.—We are, &0., • Esmond, Eobsith, & M‘Neill. Dunedin, June 24.
