Thdr'-day, June 10. (Before T. Birch, Esq., and £. ff. Ward, Esq., J.P.’s). Dbunkenness.— Thomas Wright was let pff with a caution.; —Mary Haley, whose children were sent to the Industrial School on Saturday last as neglected, in consequence of the intemperate habits of the mother, pleaded guilty to this offence.—Mr Ward (to the Inspector): What ought to be done with this woman t -Inspector Mallard; I can’d say what is best to be done. If some philanthropic ladies would.take her in hand it might perhaps have the desired effect.---Mr Ward (to accused): I think you are a very fit subject for the Refuge; and no doubt from the remarks which fall from the Bench some benevolent ladies will be induced to look after you for some timo. 1 think you ought* togo to the Refuge, which was established for such persons as you.—The charge was dispiisscd.
