THE FIRE BRIGADE.

The usual month’y meeting of the Volunteer Fire Brigade was held at the Station-house last evening; Captain Wain in the chair. A letter was read and received from Mr K. Eamsav (treasurer to the Euphrosyne fund), acknowledging the receipt of the Brigacle’s contribution of L 5 towards the widow of Captain Spence. Messrs Scholt, Harmer, and James Sinclair were elected working members, and Messrs Buck and G. Jacobs re-elected honorary members. It was decided ihat a letter should be sent to the City Council asking when the Brigade would be likely to have their now engine shed; and stating that the new ladder truck was nearly finished, and that there would not be room for it in the present station. It was agreed to grant a life honorary member’s ticket to ex-branohman Hughes (now Superintendent of the Auckland Brigade), for his long And faithful services in Dunedin.
