Honor thy father and thy mother, particularly about circus time, when you don’t know where to raise 50 cents. Next summer a number of Russian officers have resolved to emulate Lieutenant von Zubowitz’s famous ride from Vienna to Paris. They are to ride from St. Bctorsbiiig in twenty-one days. _ One of these officers—M. Medvedovsky —has just ridden with an orderly from St. Petersbuig to Moscow in nine days, although the roads were covered with ice, and there wor° occasional falls of snow. Both riders and horses arrived a.t_ their journey’s end in good health and condition. They were several times stopped on the way by zealous officials who could not understand the oVject of their haste. The distance is 698 versts.
