MORE LIGHT.

To the Editor.

Sis. —In your last issue appeared a letter advocating the introduction of some gas lamps to the different district roads about Dunedin. Like your correspondent, I frequently have had occasion to travel over the road to Roslyn after dark, and can testify to the great inconvenience arising from the deficient supply of light. During the winter months the water flows down the hill in such torrents that it has cut up the rood into deep ruts, which cause frequent stumbling, and in some cases serious accidents, to those who may not be accustomed to the dangers thus engendered. Much has been said of late regarding the northern and southern approaches to the City ; I think tins road also has a claim upon the attention of those who interest themselves in the welfare of Dunedin and its suburbs. Trusting that this may meet with something more than the cursory glance of your readers, I am, &c., .. T o UT.B. Dunedin, June 2.
