The! s.s. Wallabi, having received a thorough overhaul, will be taken out of Murray’s Floating Dock to-morrow, when she will commence to take in cargo, and leave this port on Thursday, for Wanganui, via intermediate ports. The yacht Jessie Nicoi sailed up to Dunedin this morning. The schooners Owake and Crest of the Wave arrived this morning from Timaru. The barque James Hannell commenced to discharge her piles for the Eattray street jetty this morning. The Harbor Department received a telegram on Saturday evening stating that the fine new ketch Edith Beid was ashore on the North Spit, Port Molyneux.

The N.Z.S.S. Co.’s s.s. Wellington arrived alongside the railway pier from the Northern ports at 11 a.m, yesterday. She left Onehunga at 10.45 a.m. on the 24th, with a strong N.E. breeze, which continued until 9.30 p.m. when it suddenly shifted to the S.W., causing a heavy sea to rise. At 5.30 a.m. On the 25th, a heavy sc i broke on board, and carried away her port life-boat from the chocks. She was compelled to stand off until 3 a.m,, when she steamed to Taranaki roadstead, but was tumble to communicate with the shore, and proceeded on to Nelson. At 2.30 p.m. the barometer stood at 29.15, and she shipped another heavy sea on the starboard quarter, bursting in the companion door and,flooding the saloon with water. The . engines were immediately eased, and the vessel kept under easy steam and sail all night; Nelson was reached at 8 a.m. on the 26th. In crossing the Straits on the 27th she shipped another heavy sea, which burst in the starboard gangway and shifted tho starboard life-boat. Arrived at Wellington i.t 11 a.m. on the 28th, and at Lyttelton at 10.45 a.m. on the 29th. Lett the latter port at 1.30 p.m. We thank Mr W. J. Willocks (the purser) for report and exchanges. The Wanganui returned from her southern trap at 8 a .m. yesterday. She left tbe Bluff at 5 p.m. on tho 20th ; had fine weather along the coast. SHIPPING TELEGEAM.
