WORKING MEN’S CLUBS.
To the Editor.
Sib,—Please allow me to reply to the some* what thoughtless and very incorrect letter in to-day s * Times *on the above subject. There being no liability whatever attending membership, members are not “likely to be chafed a great deal more for their privileges than could be obtained elsewhere.” For the same reason the committee would most probably seriously consider the expense of conducting the institution. So much for the letter, which I fear the most charitable can only construe as a puff or re the future managership. I oan give him no hope at present.—l am, &c., Dunedin, SfeylslT’ & S “ S> *******
