The s.s. Easby was hauled alongside the railway pier to take on board 1,200 bags of grain. The schooners Tauranpa, from the Bluff, and Pioneer, from the Molyneux, arrived at Port Chalmers this morning. The barques P.C.E. and Duke of Ediubn—b for Newcastle, were towed to sea yesterday afternoon by the tug Geelong. The whole of the vessels in harbor and at the public places in Port Chalmers displayed their bunting this morning in honor of the departure of his Excellency, Lady Normauby, and suite by the Government p.s, Luna, which took her departure shortly before noon.

The Harbor Co.’s s.s. Bruce returned from her usual trip to Lyttelton via intermediate ports at 8 o’clock this morning, and steamed alongside the ship Oamaru to discharge 100 bags of grain. She left Lyttelton at 5.15 p.m. on the 22ud, called at Akaroa and Timoru, at which latter port she loaded gram, and left for Port Chalmers at 7.30 p.m. on the 24th. Experienced fine weather during the trip Messrs M'Meckan, Blackwood’s s.s. Omeo left Lyttelton at 9 p.m. on the 19th for Timoru, and arrived there at daylight next morning. Took on board 2,222 bags of grain, and left for Oamaru at 10 p.m on the 21st, arriving there at daylight next morning, and took on board 1,382 bags of grain Left for Allday Bay at 9 p.m. on the 22nd" and arrived there at daylight on the 23rd, where she took on board 1,270 bags of grain. Left for Port Chalmers at 10 p.m. on the 24th, and came along under easy steam, arriving alongside the railway pier at eight o’clock this morning. The barque James HaSwell, with part cargo of piles and timber from Lyttelton, was signalled at the Heads this morning, and towed up to her anehorgo at 11.30 a.m. by the tug Geelong, After discharging her cargo she will be taken into the Graying Deck for a thorough overhaul. She left Lyttelton at 2 p.m. on the 20th with a light S.W. wind, which increased towards midnight, and blew heavy until 10 a.m. on the 21st, when it moderated and shifted to the N.W., which continued until arriving off the Heads at 7 p.m. last night. She passed Banks s Peninsula at 8 p.m. on the 22nd, and was towed np os above.
