IMMIGRATION.
But very little business was done at the Immigration Barracks, Caversham, to-day, the only engagements effected being those of a few young men as ploughmen, at the current rate of wages. By the Wanganui, this morning, twenty nominated immigrants were forwarded to their friends at Invercargill, and alike number are to be sent to the Palmerston Dep6t as soon as the weather settles. The single women, married couples, and unemployed single men may be engaged to-morrow.
