Cook defended accused, who brought a crossaction charging complainant with using abusive language to Mrs Phillips on April 2. From the evidence it appeared that a drain running from complainant's to accused’s premises was at the bottom of the matter, and that accused, when in liquor, was in the habit of using very foul language to complainant.— The Bench decided that both parties had been guilty of using bad language, and fined each 20s.
