Ob the meeting to-day, «ad after some m lun inary business had been got through, M* Sam annomoed that in consequence of thTvoto morning the Government had considered It-theS duty to tender their resignation to the ftmunSr

Tnapeka had been communicated with by bis Honor and probably be would bo in n position to explain to the Council what steps bad been taken. Mr Bastings at once confirmed the statement that be had been communicated with by the Superintendent, supplementing that with the information that after an interview with his Honor be had undertaken to form an Executive. He suggested that the Council should adjourn till Tuesday next. The only expressed opposition was raised by Mr Lxjmsden who thought that things had been so well organised and arranged that one day’s adjournment would have been sufficient. The adjournment till Tuesday was then agreed to.
