She left for her return trip at 8 a.m. onthe 9th, but owing to the strong N.E. gale and high sea anchored under Long Point at 7 o’clock the same night, where she remained until 8.30 p.m. on the 10th. Experienced strong NJS. winds.! high sea, and thick weather until arrival as above. Messrs M'Meokan, Blackwood and Co.'s s.s. Tararua, with the New Zealand portion of the Suez mail, arrived alongside the railway pier at 930 this morning. She cleared Port Phillip Heads at 6.30 p.m. onthe 3rd instant,and passed Swan at 2 a.m. on the sth. Experienced very bad weather with heavy head seas ana rain throughout the passage, and sighted the land at 11 p.m. on the 9thpassed the Solanders at 5.30 a.m. on the 10th, ami arrived at the Bluff at noon the same’ day, leaving for Port Chalmers at 4.30 p.m. iuncoontered strong N.E. winds with rain and thick weather'to arrival!; passed the s.s.
