Drunkenness. —Catherine Harris was fined 3s, in default tweuty-fsur hdurs’ imprisonment.
Indecency, —James Lurch was charged with this offence towards four little girls at Saddle Hill on May 6.—The charge was proved, and Mr v\ ard said that the offence deserved to be put down with the strong arm of the law, and he would always help to do so-as long as he had the administration of justiae. Prisoner had rendered himself liable to imprisonment for one years, but the Bench would take a lenient view of the matter, there being no positive evidence as to what state he was in at the time, and sentence him to two months’ imprisonment Math hard labor.
Assault.— William Gibson was charged on the information of Mary Rodgers with having on May 5 assaulted and beat her. Complainant also asked that defendant be bound over to keep the peace towards her.—The £ase was dismissed, it being the result of a drunken squabble.—Hannah Sloane v. Mary M’Conncll, was also a charge of assault.—Defendant was bound over to keep the peace for three months in'the sum of LlO.
