ACCIDENT.

At the Maplaggan street quarry, this forenoon, a workman named Daniel Claffey was seriously hurt by a piece of rock, which f- II upon him. Claffey saw the stone falling, and was in the act ot stepping out of its way, when, by some unaccountable means, he fell over an iron crowbar which he had in his hand. The stone struck the mow bar, bending it, and crushed Claffey : s leg so badly as to necessitate Iris removal to the hospita’. The lessees of the quarry in the morning had cautioned the workmen to be extremely careful.
