THE GOVERNOR'S VISIT.
The meeting convened yesterday by the Mayor to make arrangements for a citizens’ ball to the Governor and Lady Normanhy was largely attended, and the following gentlemen were appointed a committee to make the necessary arrangements : Messrs Harris, A. H. Jack, J. Cargill, J. B. Mudie. White, D. Mills, J. Copeland, Matheson, Davie, Blair, Butterworth, Beal, Walter, Prosser, and Elliot. The Mayor has received intimation that his Excellency will reach the Water of Leith at 3.30 p.m. to-morrow. If the weather continues fine, it is intended to present an address of welcome to his Excellency at the city boundary.
