THE GOVERNOR'S VISIT.
, The Superintendent left toAvn this morning in order to meet his Excellency the Governor and the Marchioness of Normanby, who ar<expectedjto reach the Waitakito-mor roAv. The vice regal entry into Oantaru is to he mad. early on Thursday rnorplng. His Excellency will be met at the town boundary shortly before eleven o’clock, receive an address from the municipal authorities at the Council Cham hers, qnci afterwards proceed to the railway station, from Avhich ho will be taken by snecial train to the breakwater, Avhere Lady Normaubv Avill christen the new Avharf. T hat ceremony over- the vice-regal party Avill attend a luncheon provided by the Oantaru Harbor Board, which will take place in the Volunteer Hall, ami for which upwards of 150 invitations have been issued. At about % p«m. his Excellency will leave Oamayu for Palmerston, staying for the night, at Mr John Douglas’s, at Mount Royal; the next morning reach Waikouaiti, where he will receive an addr ess tne local municipal body, ami be entertained at luncheon, and arrive in Dunedin the same afternoon.
