A few evenings ago a billiard match for LlO a-side was played between two professionals, one of whom rents the billiard-room at the Sussex Hotel, while the other hails from the Scandinavian. The former won the game, and a second match for a like amount between the same players came off at the Sussex yesterday evening, the local man conceding fifty points out of 1,000. The play does not call for much comment, not being particularly scientific on either side, but the giver of points never gained on his opponent at all—his game being continually spoilt by bad luck—and he lost the match by 197 points, having scored only 803 when game was The highest break during the evening, 31, was made by the winner. The loser is still not satisfied, and a third match has been arranged.
