They had a little affair of pistols at Jefferson, Nevada, a short time arm, and buried a man named M‘Donald next day. M‘Donald and a man known as Texas were engaged in th j _i, m P rovin g Nevada pastime of pok-r, Mid Texas won the pot fairly and squarely M'Donald didn’t like the idea of losing the money, and slipped two cards into the pack, claiming a “foul.” Texas would not allow the foul, and M‘Donald proceeded to choke him. Texas said he was not prepared to fight, and M‘Donald told him to go and “heel himself.” Texas went off and “ heeled himself ” with a navy revolver and came hick. M‘Donald fired two shots then before Texas got leady.but missed, and then firing became lively, and those net directly interested got bshind the bar or out in the street. Finally M‘Donald go . a bullet in his head and foil, and Texas stepped up to him and shot him twice again. When they finally picked M'Doaald up, Tex»s exatniocd tho dead man critically, and said, “Boy? I hated to do this, but I had to !” *
