Maori returned at 8 a.m. yesterday from her round trip. While at Port William, Stewart’s Island, the whaler Chance was anchored there, trying out. " The s.s. Bruce returned at 7 a.m. yesterday, from Lyttelton, via intermediate ports, and steamed alongside tho ship Oamaru to discharge 1,404 bags of grain. She left Lyttelton at 1.30 p.m. on the 23rd. The s.s. Wanganui returned from her Southern trip at 2.50 p.m. yesterday, haring left the Bluff at 5 p.m. ou the 24th with the ship Timaru (for this port) in tow. Passed through tho passage between Rnapuko and Stewart’s Island, and cast off the Timaru sixteen miles distant from tho Bluff, the vessel then standing to the southward. Had fine weather along the cost. The Wanganui brings a few boxes of salmon ora, part of the Timaru’s cargo. The s.s. Ladybird, from Northern Ports, arrived at 10 p.m. yesterday, and this morning steamed direct to Dunedin. She left Onehunga on the 20th, Taranaki on the 21st, Nelson on the 22nd, Wellington on the 23rd, and Lyttelton at 7.15 p.m. on the 24th. Experienced light variable winds from Onehunga to Wellington, fresh head winds thoi ce to Lyttelton, and thence to Otago Heads light easterly winds and flue weather. Passed the ship Warwick (bound from Napier to Lyttelton) off Ouriri Bluff. Tho s.s. Alhambra left Hobson’s Bay at 2 80 p m. on the 14th, cleared Port Phillip Heads at 6 p.m., passed Wilson’s Promontory at 4.30 a.m. and tho Sisters at noon next day; experienced N.W, winds on the first day, and moderate S.W. and S. winds during the remainder of tho voyage; arrived off Hokitika at 10.30 p.m. on the 19th, left at 11 a.m. ou the 20bh; arrived at Grey mouth at Ip.m., left at 1.20 p.m. same day; arrived at Nelson at 10 a.m. ou UjeZlst. left at 9 p.m.; arrived at Wellington at 1.0.30 a.m. on the 82nd, and loft Lyttelton at 6 p.m ou the 24th, arriving at Port Chalmers at 3 15 d m yesterday. 1 ' ' SHIPPING TELEGRAM.
