PRINCESS THEATRE.
An old fashioned comedy, “ The Soldier’s Daughter,” constituted the first part of last night’s programme at the Princess’s Theatre. Ihe scene is laid in London, the time is the latter half of last century, and the dialogue is of the lively style which found favor at that period, The principal are a vivacious young widow, well represented by Miss May Howard; a haium soarum but good hearted rake, to whose faults and virtues Mr Steele did justice ; and a jovial old bachelor, who was in the good hands of Mr Musgrave. The minor characters were satisfactorily filled, but the piece showed a little want of rehearsal. The well known comedy “The Seriou? Family,” in which Mis; Howard sustained the part of Mrs Ormsby Delmaino, wound up a good even ing’s entertainment. To-night “ oudou Assurance” will be produced.
