THE CLUTHA RAILWAY.

(Froin the Bruce Herald ) Major Atkinson, Minister of Immigration, accompanied by Mr Henderson, Brogden’n representative, Mr Blair, Government Engineer, and Mr Jerusalem Smyth, has been engaged in inspecting the Clutba line. They a rived in Milton on Wednesday night, and yesterday proceeded by rail to the Kaitangata station, stopping to inspect the various bridges and points on the line. The train ett the Milton station at ten minates past ten o clock in the forenoon, and was back at a quarter past one p m. We were informed last night that the heading of the Chain Hills Tunnel will be through in about eight weeks. During the last ten weeks it is said nearly four chains have been cjmnleted, so that three months, according to this statement, ought to see the work finished.
