A LADIES CRICKET MATCH.

What proved the greatest success in connection with the Easter festivities at .Bandhurst (Victoria) was the ladies' cricket match. The day was a halt-holiday in town, • and thousande availed themselves of the opportunity to be present. At one time* asmany as 6,000 persons assembled on the ground, including a large number of ladies. ? Che weather was very propitious, bright and clear; although, no doubt, the lady plants found it all too warm forsuoh active exercise. Kallas's band played at intervals, some of their favorite pieces. The cricketers appeared to be in much better training thaw they were on the previous occasion, aud some very creditable playing was witnessed. Miss Midwinter, sister of the well-known cricketer. made the best score, hitting hard, find ■ sending the ba?l all over the field. She scored twenty-four. The result' of the match was a victory to. the T * teds/' the totalscore being eighty -seventa against sixty-five by the "bines.** One of the principal fea* tores in the playing was Miss Gerber's howling, which would have done credit to nmember of any club. Altogether, the match was n peat success, and resulted in LIOO being divided, among the local charities. The umpires were the Hon. Aligns hlackay and Mr R. Burrowes, M.L.A
