.Whatawhata (Auckland), very lately, there was drifted ashore in a bottle, and found by the Names, a document dated Juno 8, 1874. Its opening lines are: “ English brig Eio Logo, of London, from Liverpool to Otago, New Zealand, John Curoett, master, 91 (ninety-one) days out to-day, in a ■Heavy gale from the N.E. since midnight last night. At n p.m. last night sighted Cape West, right ahead, and distant two miles only.” The Eio Loge is noyy engaged in the coastal trade. Captain Eadchffe, which left Lyttelton about the end of last month. Eeferring to the above wreck. ™® Grey Eiver Argos,’ of March 27, says“ The schooner Melbourne belonged to Messrs Piggott, of Melbourne, and on. her return trip would just have got through the Straits when she would encounter the full force of the recent S.W. gales. The skippears name of the schooner was Eadoliffe, and that is the name out on the small tool-chest washed ashore.
