lit Skene reports .—Business in the labor market has been qmte ont of join'; during the past week, people being more bent on enjoyment than on worn Engagements have been made at the following rates: Couples, from L 75 to L9O ; ploughmen and handy men, from L 52 to L 65; shepherds are quiet; laborers,9s to lOsper day; stonebreakers, by the yard, make 10s and 15s per day; female servants, from L 26 to L 52; cooks, housekeepers, and such often get more; storemen, 50s, 60s, and 70s per week; cooks, gardeners, grooms, barmen, and waiters, 20s, 255, and 30s per week; smart youngsters—boys and girls, 6s, 7s, to 15s per week; carpenters, for house and bridge work, are busy, at 12s to 14s per day; most indoor trades are active.
