ENTERTAINMENTS.
THE PRINCESS THEATRE,
We regret that the space at our disposal will not enable us to do as much justice to the entertainment given at this place of amusement last evening as we would wish. The performance commenced with “The Spitafiolds ■Weaver,” in which Miss Stoneham and Messrs Steele and Musgrave played admirably. The efforts of the Sisters Duvalli, assisted by Messrs Hall and Coutts, were evidently, appreciated by the audience, who loudly expressed their applause. Mr Arthur Vivian, a “ gentleman comique,” made his debut last evening,(and decidedly established him self as a favorite. Although it was quite apparent he was suffering from hoarseness, he sang “ Dobbs in, Paris,” “ American Drinks,” and “ Happy-go-Bill ” in the most approved style. His demeanor is gentlemanly, and he fully sustains the reputation he has made for himself in the northern portions of the Colony, the Press of Auckland especially having pronounced him to be the best performer in his line who had hitherto visited that city. Mr Vivian met with a very cordial reception last evening, and ; we have no doubt he will improve upon further acquaintance, The lessees have re-engaged the Sisters Duvalli, who will appear in a new piece to-night.
