HOSPITAL FOR PORT CHALMERS.

Messrs Elder and Joyce waited upon the Superintendent to-day to ascertain what assistance the Provincial Government were disposed to give towards the erection of a hospital at Port Chalmers. His Honor admitted that a hospital at the Port was necessary, and thought there would be no difficulty in getting a site, and said would lay the matter before the Executive with a view of having a sum placed on the estimates for the purpose.
