VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
The return, match between; the City Guards and Wanganui was fired this mornihg, the conditions being the same as in the last match fired on February 20, when it will be recollected the Wanganui rifles won by 38 points. The Guards fired at the Waikari range ; and the weather thin morn* ing being most favorable, they made excellent shooting throughout. The competition between M‘Gregor, who heads the list, Douglas, and Creagh was most exciting. They tied at the 200 and 500 yards ranges and kept together till the last shot, when M'Gregor scored a bull’s-eye against, the others’ outers. The Guard’s scores in detail are;—
